Catching Lisa’s Killer: Riveting podcast captures attention of listeners and rockets into top five
The West Australian’s riveting podcast Catching Lisa’s Killer: The Inquest has captured the attention of listeners cross the country.
The true crime series, which delves into the dark underbelly of the WA outback, has rocketed into the top five true crime podcasts on Spotify’s Australia charts.
It also came in at 16th place for all podcasts in Australia.
In the podcast, hosts Natalie Bonjolo and Ben Harvey outline the shocking details revealed during a Coroner’s inquest into Lisa Govan’s disappearance.
The 25-year-old mystery has been dogged by the bikie code of silence and an outback town that has refused to give up its secrets.
Ms Govan was last seen outside a bikie clubhouse in 1999, her body has never been found and no arrests have been made.
Club Deroes bikie Andrew Edhouse was partying with the 28-year-old on the morning she went missing — October 8, 1999.
The notorious bikie was one of the last people to have seen her alive — and the inquest was recently told that Mr Edhouse stomped on her head as she lay on the floor of the gang’s Kalgoorlie clubhouse.
Mr Edhouse was arrested on suspicion of Ms Govan’s murder but was released without charge.
He avoided testifying at the recent coronial inquiry because he was travelling abroad.
Bonjolo and Harvey previously produced The West Australian’s 2021 groundbreaking documentary about the mystery — Catching Lisa’s Killer: Fear And Murder in Kalgoorlie — revealing astonishing new details about the long-running police case.
The true crime investigations goes back in time — to a place of bikies, skimpies, gold, legalised prostitution, drugs, big pubs and tough cops.
The Kalgoorlie that Ms Govan disappeared from was the genuine wild west.
The bikie code of silence was tested during the inquest, with some witnesses admitting to Coroner Michael Jenkin that Clue Deroes members and associates don’t discuss club matters with those outside the club.
The podcast Catching Lisa’s Killer: The inquest is available on Spotify, Apple and YouTube Music.
