Emergency services were busy on Saturday as crews responded to two crashes in the early hours of the morning, with one collision leaving a pedestrian injured.

Police were called to Roe Street in Northbridge about 3.20am on Saturday after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

The 25-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital via ambulance.

The 58-year-old female driver was not injured.

Just over an hour later, police attempted to stop a silver BMW sedan travelling west along Aberdeen Street about 4.25am.

Officers put on their emergency lights and sirens, however the driver allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away.

A short time later, police received reports a car matching the description of the BMW had crashed into a power pole on Stirling Highway near Mounts Bay Road in Crawley.

The male driver allegedly fled the scene on foot but was found by officers nearby with minor injuries.

The 27-year-old man from Brabham was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

He is due to face charges of failure to comply with a direction to stop, reckless driving, no authority to drive, and a blood alcohol level in excess of .08.
