An already 16-month closure of a major intersection for Australind commuters has been extended amid delays with the region’s biggest infrastructure project.

The new intersection of Paris Road and Forrest Highway was planned to reopen last month after being shut since February 2023 for works on the $1.46 billion Bunbury Outer Ring Road.

But with the flyover still to be completed, Main Roads WA has told drivers they will need to continue using alternative routes in and out of Australind until late October.

Main Roads has apologised for any inconvenience the delay may cause and said it appreciated the patience while work was completed.
