The NRL has hit Warriors forward Josh Curran with a proposed two-game ban and a $10,000 fine over an incident at a nightclub last year.

Curran pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Port Macquarie Local Court last week but avoided a conviction for assaulting a 16-year-old who had been allegedly filming him without his consent.

The NRL integrity unit conducted its own review and has proposed a two-match ban, although Curran was withdrawn from last week’s loss to the Rabbitohs and that match will count towards the suspension.

He will miss this weekend’s game against the Eels but will be available for the round 20 match at home against the Sharks.

Curran has five business days to respond to the breach notice, which includes a $10,000 fine and a directive to “engage in and complete such education and training as advised by the NRL”.
