Coldplay tribute show a hit with Goldfields fans
As the sun set over Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Saturday, a crowd gathered in Centennial Park for the second instalment in a series of free concerts.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Sunset Concert Series featured a tribute show to famed British band Coldplay.
Local musician Meggan Carswell opened the show before tribute band Coldplace joined the stage to perform classics including Yellow, Fix You, Viva La Vida, Clocks, and Paradise.
Later in the evening, fans collected at the stage front and danced along to the show which featured bubbles and stage pyrotechnics.
It followed the first instalment of the series on Australia Day, when performers Tom Jennis and Johnny Red lit up the Soundshell stage with a high-energy tribute to David Bowie and Freddie Mercury.
The third concert in the series will see popular Australian jazz-funk band The Cat Empire perform their new material alongside crowd favourites on February 15.
