A pair of best friends in Perth’s northern suburbs have turned a breakfast date into a six-figure windfall.

A Kingsley woman and her life-long best friend bought a stratchcard from Kingsway City Lottery Centre on their way to breakfast.

Over eggs on toast, they scratched the ticket, initially believing they had won just $200.

But they soon realised they had received a $200,000 prize.

“I was so excited about $200 — it’s the biggest prize I’ve ever seen on a scratchie,” the woman said.

“When we realised it was actually $200,000, we were both shaking, we couldn’t believe it.

The friends, who are aged in their 40s, plan to celebrate by spending some of their winnings on a spa day.

“We can’t wait to be pampered and share a fancy lunch,” one of the friend said.

Meanwhile, a woman in Camillo, south east of Perth, has also won on a scratchcard, scoring $50,000.

The woman in her 40s, who bought her ticket from Kelmscott Newsagency, said she would celebrate over dinner with her housemate.

“It will be so nice to put some extra cash in the bank for a rainy day,” the woman said. “I am looking forward to celebrating over dinner with my housemate.”

Earlier this week, 15 Australians who don’t know each other shared in Oz Lotto’s $70 million jackpot.

The group of Queenslanders each took away $4.7m after their syndicate scored the only division one winning entry in the draw.

The winners bought their shares in the syndicate shares at Golden Casket outlets across Queensland, from the Gold Coast to Townsville.
