More than 1000 people flock to Stow Gardens for 2025 Harmony Festival with live performances and great food

Massive crowds from all walks of life gathered at Stow Gardens on Saturday to enjoy all the activities and great food of the 2025 Harmony Festival. More than 1000 people flocked to the foreshore to immerse themselves in the amazing music, dance and art performances and an abundance of activities, while being able to choose between various cuisines from around the world including gelato, kebabs, waffles and the good old sausage sizzle. Children and parents alike got to show off their skills on the mini-golf course and during the many activities in the rage cage, make their own box kites and pet the cute baby animals at the petting zoo. Performers from African countries and the Philippines, Indonesia and other Asian countries took to the stage to showcase their cultural music and dance while an Aboriginal sand mural titled Sun City was created over the duration of the event next to the stage. The jam-packed and successful day ended with a procession of flags representing all of the different cultures that make up the rich diversity of the City of Greater Geraldton. Midwest Multicultural Association secretary Yvonne Lovedee was ecstatic with the turnout and said it was a “lovely, family-friendly event”. “It was just amazing to see everyone mix together and enjoy each other’s company and all the cultures Geraldton has to offer,” she said. “The day wouldn’t have been possible without all of our sponsors, volunteers and local businesses so a big thank you to everyone who helped us set up, pack up and keep the day running smoothly.” With all of the festivities, there was one missing activity that Ms Lovedee hoped didn’t disappoint any of the kids too much. “Due to the wind and health and safety we unfortunately couldn’t have any of the bouncy castles up,” she said. “So I hope no one was too upset, but there was plenty to do and see and it turned out to be a great day for everyone.”
