Artist teams up with youth for exhibition

ARRAN MORTONSound Telegraph

Medina-based artist Lewis Horne has come up with a plethora of creative ideas over the years.

This year he has teamed up with Rockingham’s Prospect Youth Group to create a rubbish truck solely from recycled parts he hopes will wow judges at next month’s Castaways Sculpture Awards.

Mr Horne said working with the high school students was a great experience.

“I’ve worked with the group a couple of times before, and it’s so rewarding because the kids are so interesting and every one of them has a story to tell,” he said.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, May 11, to Sunday, May 19, along the Rockingham foreshore.
