Artistic milestone

The Rockingham Visual Arts Society is celebrating its milestone 40th Anniversary this month with an exhibition at the Rockingham City Shopping Centre.

The exhibition will run in the Fashion Mall from July 14-17 with works by some of the society’s 38 members on display.

The group also came together on Saturday and threw a party for past and present members at their clubroom in Baldivis.

President Sonia Hotham said everyone was excited to see their work on display this week.

“It is fantastic that our art will be seen by a lot of people as they wander the shops,” she said. “Turning 40 is a great achievement — we even have three ladies still with us who were founding members.”

The Rockingham Visual Arts Society meets each week with members working on paintings, knitting, crocheting and other handmade craft designs.
