Rockingham police are pursuing a man that attempted an armed robbery at the Hungry Jacks fast- food restaurant in Port Kennedy early on Monday morning.

About 12.45am, a man forced entry into the store by smashing a glass door with a weapon, before breaking into a cash register — but he left empty-handed.

Employees of the restaurant locked themselves in a toilet while the man was present.

The man is described as being about 170cm tall, fair-skinned and was wearing a grey hoodie jumper and dark pants at the time. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa. com.au.
