Rockingham and Kwinana youth are set to take to the greens at the second annual Bowl for Headspace fundraiser on Sunday.

Organised by Rockingham Kwinana Rotaract Club, the family-friendly event intends to raise awareness about the organisation and help fund more activities for the region's youth who are dealing with mental health issues. Rotaract member Kim Dawes said last year's bowls day raised $1800 for Headspace and she hoped to raise the same, if not more, for the Rockingham branch this year.

The event will be held at the Kwinana Lawn Bowls Club and Miss Dawes said she hoped 20 teams would nominate to participate in the relaxed tournament, while people could join in offshoot games throughout the day. Rockingham Headspace manager Raff Di Bartolomeo said he was grateful for the organisation's support to share its message about being a part of the community and working together for the region's youth.

He said the money raised would stay in Rockingham and could fund a community forum to raise awareness about Headspace's services or to set up a program to target a particular need in the community.

"In our first six months we have helped more than 300 people in the region, and of those about 100 on a monthly basis," he said.

Entry for bowling teams of four cost $80 and tickets can be bought by phoning 0425 574 499 or 0433 586 481.

Included in the nomination fee is a sausage sizzle and music provided throughout the day.
