Young people throughout Kwinana and Rockingham have the opportunity to explore educational and job opportunities at a new event.

The Connections Your Next Step Youth Employment event aims at motivating young people aged 14 to 25 to engage with potential employers and educational institutes in the region.

The free annual event is being hosted by the City of Kwinana at the Zone Youth Space tomorrow, showcasing a range of job opportunities and training options through hands-on activities.

City of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said she was thrilled an event could bring young people together to not only enjoy themselves but be given guidance on an important aspect of their lives.

“This unique opportunity will provide young people with an array of different career options to pursue across various industries in and outside of Kwinana,” she said.

“It’s a rare chance for young people and their support networks to access a wide range of businesses and institutions under the one roof and I strongly encourage people with even a remote interest to attend — you never know what may come of it.”

The event will encourage young people to aspire to a career they are passionate about and help guide a positive transition to employment.

Some of the agencies attending include the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA and SMYL Community Services.
