Community-minded organisations and groups seeking to make a difference now have the opportunity to apply for new funding to achieve their goals faster.

Applications for round two of the Kwinana Community Development Fund for 2016-17 are now open to assist with upcoming community-focused projects. Organisations in Kwinana are invited to apply for the funding to assist with upcoming community-focused projects.

The purpose of the fund is to support local groups in their endeavours to meet community needs and enhance the spirit of the City.

City of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the City was proud to support community groups who are helping make Kwinana a great place to live.

“We have so many groups in Kwinana doing fantastic things for community spirit and morale, many of which are run by volunteers,” she said.

“This funding intends to help these groups reach their goals a little faster.

“Whether it be to upgrade equipment or to help plan a community event, I encourage all not-for-profit groups with a project in mind to apply for the Community Development Fund.”

Organisations who have already benefitted include the Medina Residents Group and Kwinana Little Athletics Club.

Funding will be available in three categories, including community development for growth and enrichment, minor capital works to improve facilities and recreation equipment for sporting groups that service young people under the age of 18.

Applications close December 20. Visit www.kwinana.wa.gov.au.
