More than 100 players and partners, committee, life members and sponsors enjoyed Rockingham Mandurah’s end of season wind-up at Lark Hill.

The big winner on the night was first grade player Craig Simmons who not only won first grade’s batting, bowling and all-rounder trophies, but also took out the club champion and MVP awards.

It’s been a stellar year for Simmons who was also presented with The Olley Cooley Medal as the fairest and best in the WACA First Grade competition.

President Daniel Whiting and coach Brendan Diamanti highlighted that first grade made the semi-finals of the one day competition and the statewide Twenty20 contest.

Fourth grade was praised for just missing out on the finals, and the club’s juniors were mentioned for a successful season.

Tributes were paid to Aimee White who had reformed the ladies’ section of the club.

Two of the club’s hard working volunteers, Steve Sherwin and Steve Langley, were presented with life memberships for their efforts over the years.
