Witnesses say a dramatic police chase ended when the car being pursued hit a kerb and launched into the air, before flipping and landing upside down on the Rockingham Foreshore.

Neighbouring residents told the Telegraph the female driver tried to flee the scene before she was apprehended by police.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said the car was travelling at speeds between 80km and 100km when it took the corner towards the Esplanade.
