CHOGM won't stretch Kwinana policing

Sound Telegraph

Kwinana police expect no shortfall in resources during the CHOGM event to be held in late October.

In a meeting with Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams, Peel District Supt Pryce Scanlan discussed resources.

‘‘A meeting was recently held with Superintendent Pryce Scanlan to discuss local policing issues and to allay concerns that CHOGM may erode our local police service for a period of time,’’ she said.

‘‘He has advised us that it is business as usual during the CHOGM period and that no major disruptions are expected to police services.’’

However, the mayor said officers may be expected to work a different roster to ensure there is enough cover in the Peel region.
