Kwinana Golf Club’s very own Daniel Hoeve is in high spirits after taking his golfing career to a whole new level last week.

The 21-year-old travelled to Adelaide where he took out the South Australian Amateur golf tournament.

A resident of Mundijong, Hoeve has been playing since the age of seven and had always held a passion for the sport.

He said the tournament was a highlight in his career to date.

“This win was my first national-ranking even win,” Hoeve said.

“I started off fairly shaky but held it together to win by one.”

He plays on a handicap of plus 5 and the win helped rank him inside the top-50 amateur golfers in the world. Hoeve said he was stoked to be in such a great position where he will be able to compete against young golfers around the world, and he was excited to get starts in a lot of world-ranking events overseas.

Hoeve’s next move is heading to Tasmania to play in the interstate series before jetting off in July to the US where he will compete in some of the bigger tournaments.
