Cooloongup murder arrest
A 51-year-old Cooloongup man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 73-year-old Mandurah grandmother Helen Bromley in October 2010.
Colin Casey appeared in the East Perth Magistrate’s Court on Saturday where he made no plea.
No application for bail wasmade by his lawyer, Mara Barone.
During the brief appearance he stood quietly in the dock and spoke only to confirm that he understood the murder charge read out to him by Magistrate Vicki Stewart.
His arrest came after an emotional public appeal for information made by Mr s Bromley’s daughter, Evelyn Dawe, last week.
Her mother was found fatally wounded in her garden.
Mr Casey was remanded in custody to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court via video link on September 14.
