Deadline looms on sports star awards

Nominations close for the City of Rockingham’s 2016 Sports Star Awards this Friday.

Residents have until until 4.30pm on Friday to come forward and nominate a talented Rockingham individual, team or club for their contribution to local sports.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the annual awards.

Categories include Junior Sports Star of the Year, Senior Sports Star of the Year, Sports Star of the Year with Disability, Club of the Year, Team/Squad of the Year and Volunteer/Coach/Official of the Year.
