Delays to Rockingham and Mandurah bin collections
The cities of Rockingham and Mandurah have warned residents to expect delays of up to 24 hours for rubbish collection after Transpacific Cleanaway’s fleet was grounded earlier this week.
Residents have been asked to put their bins out for collection as per the normal schedule but are warned collection could take longer because of the backlog.
The company’s fleet was grounded for assessment after a fatal traffic crash in South Australia on Monday.
Rockingham City’s contract with Cleanaway is for the collection and process of yellow-lidded recycling bins and where possible the city’s own trucks will be used instead.
As for Mandurah, its entire fleet will be thoroughly inspected before returning to the roads.
The cities thank residents for their cooperation.
