Driver 'evades police' in Kwinana

Armadale Detectives want to speak with anyone who had their vehicle damaged in a police pursuit in Kwinana yesterday afternoon.

About 2.15pm on August 17, Regional Operations Group officers sighted a black Ford Falcon XR6 on Sulphur Road, Kwinana, which had been reported stolen.

Police said officers attempted to stop the Falcon but lost sight of it in Oldbury.

The police helicopter tracked the vehicle to Thornlie, where the driver, a 22-year-old Warwick man, allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, but was apprehended shortly after.

The man was charged with two counts each of burglary and commit, stealing and reckless driving, and one count each of steal motor vehicle, attempted steal motor vehicle, fail to stop, no authority to drive and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and was due to appear at Perth Magistrate’s Court today.

Police want to speak with anyone who had their vehicle damaged in the incident or saw the Falcon earlier in the day.
