Baldivis Primary School students had a brush with celebrity last week when West Coast Eagles player Bradd Dalziell popped in to celebrate the arrival of a new set of footy goals.

Sports teacher Janelle Marangon said she was very excited the school would now be able to offer another sport for students, creating diversity in outdoor activities.

Ms Marangon said the new footy goals, the result of a donation from property developer Australand, arrived at the perfect time to mark the founding of the school's first girls' team.

She said a significant number of girls had switched over from playing netball at school, to giving football a try.

"The donation will have an extremely positive impact on students' overall wellbeing and productivity in class. It is vital the kids get outdoors and into the fresh air," she said.

Australand development director Justin Crooks said more and more students would progress through the school and enjoy the goals as Baldivis continued to grow.

Dalziell, who visited on Tuesday morning with team mascot Rick the Rock, said anything that encouraged primary school students into sport was a positive.

Student Finn Parlet said meeting Dalziell and Rick the Rock was a perfect start to his 11th birthday.
