Kwinana residents will soon have the option to receive monthly updates from Kwinana police with the station set to launch the ewatch initiative.

Ewatch is an email-based system designed to keep residents connected to their police and council so they can help track down crime and be proactive in making the community safer.

Senior Sergeant Stephen Thompson said the initiative would help the police communicate with the community their plan of action against crime and offer tips and advice on how to avoid crime.

Sen. Sgt Thompson said 76 residents were already eager to receive updates and he encouraged residents to join ewatch by heading to http://ewatch.com.au/ and be ready to receive email updates on crime trends and statistics, safety initiatives, emerging issues and community-building events, once the account was up and running.

Ewatch is a free service provided by WA Police and Neighbourhood Watch and supported by WALGA and Crime Stoppers WA.
