Fashion show joins cancer fight

SOPHIE HAWKINSSound Telegraph

Fashion might not be able to cure cancer, but for a few hours on September 24 it will fight awfully hard to.

Rockingham resident Carlie Philp is organising the Charity Fashion Show with friend Sue Nicholl to raise money for Sue’s Relay for Life team.

The Gary Holland Centre will be transformed into a fashion paradise as guests enjoy fashion parades and a two-course buffet lunch.

Mrs Philp said the proceeds raised would go to the Cancer Council.

‘‘We’ve all been touched by cancer through family and friends so this is a really good cause to be involved with,’’ she said.

‘‘Vineyard Catering Service will be catering the day and Sexc Chic will be doing the fashion parade—we really couldn’t do it without them.’’

Elle Linsley runs Sexc Chic with her mum and sister and said they were happy to be involved in such a positive event.

‘‘We’ve had a cousin who died of cancer so we know what it feels like to be affected,’’ she said.

‘‘We cater for women of all shapes and sizes so we’re looking forward to showing what we can do.’’
