After a fiery season, Rockingham Flames women’s division have breezed into the Women’s State Basketball League finals.

The ladies finished second on the ladder and will take on nearby neighbours Cockburn, who finished seventh on the ladder, in the quarter finals this weekend.

The men’s division ended the season with a loss to Sun City Plumbing Geraldton Buccaneers, 103-87, at Active West Stadium.

Cooper Land finished his season with a solid 23 points and 12 rebounds while teammates Trent Gerovich put 19 points on the board, Travis Moore 12 and 13 rebounds, and Brendan Della Maddalena 10.

Further south, the Mandurah Magic men’s division will play finals after finishing seventh on the ladder and will take on second on the ladder, Perry Lakes in the first round of the men’s finals.

The Mandurah Magic cemented their spot in the finals defeating bottom-placed Kalamunda Eastern Suns, 107-99, at Ray Owen Sports Centre at the weekend.

Magic’s Rhett Della Maddalena was a major contributor for the Magic with 30 points while Taylor Land added 28, Taylor Mullenax 20 and Andrew Bowman 13.

Mandurah Magic’s women’s division finished second last on the ladder after a loss to the Kalamunda Eastern Suns, who secured fifth position, after beating the Magic 70-54 at Ray Owen Sports Centre.

This weekend Mandurah will go head to head with Perry Lakes, Geraldton will verse Wanneroo and East Perth will play South West.

In the ladies division Rockingham will meet Cockburn, Wanneroo will take on Stirling and Lakeside will verse Kalamunda.
