The sky’s the limit for young people who are “motivated and willing to have a go” at the Australian Concepts Centre in Rockingham.

The graduate program — the first of its kind — will be based at Murdoch University, with enrolments now open.

Available to anyone aged 18 or older, who has graduated from high school, the program will provide students with a Diploma in Leadership and Management.

ACC chief executive Dave Simmons said a part of the process was asking people what they were good at and then working to expand their skill set.

“For us it’s all about passion, opportunity and network,” he said.

“It’s a very practical course based on solving industry, social and community problems and working with charity, community groups and the State Government.”

Rockingham was chosen for the launch of the program because of its proximity to Kwinana industries and to provide more opportunities for young people in the area.

“We offer unrestricted thinking and teach students to think laterally, which makes them valuable to a variety of sectors,” Mr Simmons said.

The centre is also working with the South West Institute and Murdoch University to create pathways for further academic opportunities.

“After graduating, students can go on to further studies, start up their own business or get a professional appointment in almost any sector,” Mr Simmons said.

“The program is customised to the person and will provide a platter of opportunity.”

Mr Simmons said the centre had a strong network of contacts in Australia and abroad, which students would be encouraged to tap into.

“There are lots of options — I didn’t want there to be a boundary on what students can achieve,” he said.

The program will start on April 27. For more information, visit www.australianconcepts.com.au or contact 9553 7075.
