Our Heritage at Sloans

Sunday 18 May 9am to 12pm

Sloans Reserve

Good old-fashioned fun will take over Sloans Reserve this weekend as the City of Kwinana celebrates Heritage Month.

The event, Our Heritage at Sloans, is part of the City’s SmokeFree WA Our Heritage: The Stories We Share events, continuing throughout May.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said residents were invited to have a fun filled morning and discover Kwinana’s rich history and natural heritage.

“It is great to see one of Kwinana’s historical landmarks come alive with activities surrounding the stories of Kwinana’s past and present,” she said.

“The SmokeFree WA Our Heritage: The Stories We Share event at Sloans Reserve will allow for family and friends to come together, and have some good oldfashioned fun.”

The morning will include Kwinana’s very own antique road show, which made its debut in 2013, giving visitors the opportunity to have family heirlooms evaluated.

Other activities include a vintage car exhibit, animal farm, market stalls, healthy lifestyles games and the final clue for the Map Our Heritage discovery activity.

Celebrating the beginning of planting season, residents will also be able to join in planting some natives and purchase up to 40 subsidised seedlings at $1.50 each.
