,Inaugural beach cup a big hit

The donations and fundraising efforts from the first-ever Rockingham Beach Cup earlier last month have been counted and an official sum of $60,000 has been raised for charity.

The Rockingham Hotel has reported that in the aftermath of the cup, it had its best Sunday session in 16 years and restaurants and accommodation venues were thrilled with the weekend’s trade.

The cup is now confirmed as an annual event after Palm Beach Rotary Club registered the event for three years and a date for 2017 is under discussion.
