Industry welcomes Millions deal
Magic Millions has announced a partnership with the Pinjarra Race Club which will involve races held in conjunction with Ladies Day on February 7.
World-renowned Magic Millions operates the sales of high-class performance horses. The partnership means its WA 2YO Classic and 3YO trophy races run at Pinjarra Park, and the 3YO purse will increase by 50 per cent to $150,000.
It is hoped the partnership will inject millions into the Peel economy and make the region the equine centre of WA.
Larkhill trainer Dan Pearce said the development was a boost for local trainers and owners. "It will be great for owners to be able to see their horses run on a local track and Pinjarra is one of the best venues for summer racing," he said.
"The increased purse is a nice incentive too and will hopefully attract some of the top horses and trainers."
Pinjarra Race Club chairman Phil Ibbotson said he had embraced the opportunity of the new partnership with Magic Millions at the track, which was recognised as one of the premier racecourses in WA.
