Vicious, passionate and gripping, Bell Shakespeare Company’s production of Othello is set to take audiences on a relentless journey.

Envy is a weapon wielded with brazen savagery and the complex contradictory nature of humanity will be tested when the company comes to Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on August 13 as part of its national tour

A violent exploration of the thin line that separates love and jealousy, Othello is one of William Shakespeare’s most famous and passionate tragedies.

A warrior on the fields of war, fuelled by the sharpness of whispered words, Othello is a man swept up in desire, which quickly turns to murderous rage when he is betrayed by his military brother-in-arms, the cynically destructive Iago. With Bell Shakespeare Company’s artistic director Peter Evans at the helm, this gripping production will touch audience members to their core.

Starring Ray Chong Nee as Othello and Yalin Ozucelik as Iago in one of Shakespeare’s most captivating and devastating pairings, this astonishing epic tragedy will rage with jealousy.

The Bell Shakespeare Company aims to create theatre that allows audiences of all walks of life to see themselves reflected and transformed

through great writing.
