Juniors make waves in comp

More than 70 competitors hit the water at Secret Harbour on August 4 for the Surf Beach Boardriders Club’s latest competition.

Competitors were treated to 1.5m offshore waves which provided a great day of surfing.

Chris Howath and April McPherson took the honours in the cadet boys and cadet girls events.

Cam McColl won on the surfboard and Mick Jahn won on the longboard in the over-40 events.

Jahn also won in the open longboard event, and Harry McPherson won in the open surfboard as well as the junior boys events.

Kierra Pollock won junior girls.

April McPherson and Maiko McPherson won the grommet girls and grommet boys events, respectively.

Brian Norton won the over-45 surfboard event and Shane Drew won the seniors surfboard event.

The next competition is scheduled for this Sunday.
