BOOK LAUNCH

Bride Everlasting: Third Time Lucky?,

Rockingham Campus Community Library,

Friday, February 14 from 7pm to 9pm

More than 10,000 people from 27 countries logged on to read the rollercoaster ride of Rockingham resident Kelly Hulin’s life in her blog, Bride Everlasting: Third Time Lucky?

The popularity of the 12-month blog inspired the mother of two to publish the journey in her debut book to be launched on Friday.

Hulin said the 50-page book was presented as an online conversation which focused on her contemplating a third marriage in her 30s.

“It ended up being a story in itself,” she said.

“My first ex-husband passed away in late 2012. He was the father of my son and we were really good friends.

“That was a really awful time.

“I had separated earlier that year from my second husband and was dating a guy that was talking about marriage.

“I started blogging to clarify what I was thinking.”

Hulin said she was overwhelmed by messages of support from across the globe.

“At the time I felt I was in an unusual situation — who considers marriage for a third time at 35?” she said.

“I had shame, grief, anger at my second husband who I don’t get on with and was fitting in the idea of a new love.

“It was a really confusing time.”

Copies of Bride Everlasting: Third Time Lucky? will be available for $10 at the launch.
