Local actress seeks role on hit US vampire series

An aspiring Rockingham actress came one step closer to achieving her dream when she met with a casting director from The Vampire Diaries.

Krystina Tasker, who has been staying in Los Angeles, met with the show’s Greg Orson to discuss the possibility of a role.

“I was so excited to sign with an agency here in LA — it can be really hard to find one when you are from another country,” she said.

“It was awesome to find out I had an agent — I get so excited just talking about it.

“It has been great the past couple of months because they have been getting me on to the right track, looking at my typecasting and things like that.”

Krystina said it had been a huge dream of hers to appear on The Vampire Diaries and would attend a casting workshop in Hollywood in the coming weeks.

“It’s a huge dream of mine to be on the show,” she said.

“I love the characters and the writing, and I’ve wanted to meet with directors for so long — now that I am, there’s no holding me back.”

The 17-year-old, who attended John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle, embarked on a year-long stay in the US city earlier in the year, but now hopes to stay in the country for the foreseeable future.

“With the support of my agent, I will be applying for an extraordinary talent visa, which means I can stay here and keep working towards my dream,” she said.
