The Old Town Jetty, which was removed in 2009, could be reinstated, as part of the City's Rockingham Beach master plan.

The plan, which will go before City of Rockingham councillors this week, outlines plans to reinstate a jetty stretching from the north-west corner of the Beach Plaza at Railway Terrace and curving 100m into Mangles Bay.

Detailed design at a later stage is expected to include a safe swimming area similar to an ocean pool.

Rockingham Beach could also include an interactive water playground, upgraded play equipment, beach equipment hire facilities and an ocean pool near Bell and Churchill Parks or the Naval Memorial Park.

Councillors will be asked this week to back the release of the Rockingham Beach master plan, which aims to focus on making the central precinct family-orientated, for public consultation.
