The Rockingham Masters Swimming Club has a new season starting up next week and is encouraging adults of all ages and abilities to join in the fun.

Club president Erica Thomas said the group catered for everyone from serious swimmers who competed to people just wanting to improve their fitness.

“There is no requirement to compete or reach a certain standard, as long as you have a basic ability to swim you are more than welcome to give it a go,” she said.

The club is coached by Bridget Young who competed for Great Britain and has also swam across the English Channel.

“Bridget is highly qualified and is volunteering her time to the club which is fantastic,” Ms Thomas said.

“She has been awarded the Australian Sports Medal and continues to train and compete for our club.

“This is an incredible opportunity for anyone wanting to improve their swimming and thanks to the management team at Aqua Jetty, we have a fantastic environment in which we can socialise, get healthy and meet wonderful new friends.”

The Rockingham Masters squad will begin training on Tuesday at Aqua Jetty from 6.30-7.30pm.

Potential members are offered a free training session before they join and from there will be required to pay a $2 lane hire fee plus entry to the pool.
