She is only eight years old, but Port Kennedy resident Isabelle Milne is already a veteran of the Perth Royal Show Cookery competition.

The Star of the Sea Primary School student has been creating intricate and detailed biscuits to enter in the decorated biscuits category for a number of years and this year she designed a winner.

It seems Isabelle inherited some of her passion for baking from her talented mother Mary, who has been a regular in the chocolate and confectionery section for 10 years.

The duo have a long list of Royal Show baking achievements and a house full of cabinets displaying their prize-winning designs and ribbons.

Mrs Milne entered all six of the chocolate and confectionery sections this year and was awarded two first-place sashes, three second places and a third, while being named the highest point exhibitor.

She said the pair spent months researching and brainstorming ideas before beginning production on their designs two weeks before the Show.
