Rockingham City Football Club has a new women’s team this season and it has been taking the competition by storm.

The women compete in a 10-team division and are sitting second on the ladder with just one loss so far this season.

Coach Jake Keirnan said starting a new team this year was a bit of a challenge but the players had been working well as a side.

“We have become a very strong team in a short amount of time,” he said.

“We have 12 players listed at the moment and are always looking for more to join the ranks.”

The team trains for 90 minutes twice a week and has plenty of time to continue their dominance with the season end in October.

Kiernan said the skill level was mixed with a few first time players.

“Those that haven’t played before are improving dramatically every week,” he said.

“We have plenty of talent to burn and definitely have a shot at winning the league and the cup this season.”

The RCFC women take on Wanneroo City in round 9 of the women’s metro division six at Lark Hill on Sunday.
