A combination of 1.5m waves and offshore winds on Sunday provided perfect conditions for the Secret Harbour Surf Beach Boardriders Club’s third event for the year.

Club members were ready and eager to hit the water for their heats and there were a number of stand-out competitors.

Ella Ginbey and Maiko McPherson were outstanding in the grommet division, while Mitch O'Connor, Darren Lang and Micheal Dunstan surfed well in the open group.

April McPherson took the junior women’s division, with Oli Mitton in second, while Connor Gaiger finished first in the junior men’s.

Ian Forrest won the over-40s division and Michael Dunstan won the over-45s.

Bryce Pugh took the long board division, from Dave Ware in second and Brynn Osbourne in third.

The club’s next competition will be held on Sunday, July 3, with a 7.30am start.
