Rockingham detectives are calling for help from the public following the suspicious death of a 46-year-old woman on April 29.

Diana Lesley Matthews, known to her friends as Di, left her Baldivis home on foot and was seen at the Caltex service station in Baldivis about 7.40pm.

Det-Sgt Steve Malcolm said Ms Matthew’s body was found about 11.30pm in a man-made lake at Rockingham Memorial Park in Baldivis Road, Baldivis.

‘‘She was found by a couple of gentlemen — one man came to wash his hands and subsequently got a fright when he found her,’’ he said.

Police are treating her death as suspicious and a post-mortem is being conducted to determine the cause of death.

‘‘There is no physical indication of how she died, butweknow she did not die at the location she was found,’’ he said.

‘‘We are very keen to establish her last movements after she was seen at the petrol station.’’

Police had originally thought the death was not suspicious.

‘‘Our first assessment was there was nothing suspicious,’’ Det-Sgt Malcolm said.

‘‘However, we have since established that her body has been moved here, which causes us concern.’’

Ms Matthews was last seen wearing a maroon polo-neck shirt with a Northern Territory motif and black shorts.

Anyone who saw her on Friday or has any information regarding her death should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
