Rams look to Pinjarra

BRIAN OLIVERSound Telegraph

The Rockingham Rams will be hoping Pinjarra dispose of Waroona this weekend so they can wrap up a top-two finish to close the home-and-away season.

With just one game to go before the finals, the Rams and Demons are tied on 14 wins each, with Demons ahead on percentage.

If Pinjarra account for the Demons, and the Rams are all but certainties to defeat the winless Mandurah, it will give them the double chance in the first week of finals.

It will be an elimination final for Baldivis and Centrals this Sunday, with both teams locked on 28 points. The two sides will play each other, with the winner securing fourth position on the ladder.

At the weekend, the Rams got the job done against South Mandurah, securing a 44-point win.

The Rams led at every change and finished off strongly, kicking six goals to two in the final term.

It was a disappointing afternoon for the reserves side, who went down to South Mandurah by 142 points. The Rams managed just one goal for the game.

In the colts game, despite opening up a quarter-time lead, the Rams went down by 21 points.

South Mandurah was too good in the last quarter, kicking four goals.
