Regional tour overdue

Sound Telegraph

Australian songbird Kate Miller-Heidke will visit Mandurah as part of her national tour.

It will be Miller-Heidke’s first extensive regional tour since 2009, showcasing her latest release, Nightflight, which has attracted critical acclaim.

In the past year, Miller-Heidke has performed tours around Australia, gigs in Asia and Europe, and a handful of festivals.

She said she was looking forward to hitting the road to visit her regional fans.

“Of course I love playing in the capital cities, but there is something very special about the audiences in regional areas,” she said.

“It has been more than three years since my last big regional tour, so this one is long overdue.

“These fans are hugely important to me and I can’t wait to see them.”

Supporting all shows will be Franky Walnut — a quirky country boy who claims to have been “enthralling audiences both locally and at home with his extensive back catalogue of between six and seven songs”, most of which he can’t remember the lyrics to.

Miller-Heidke will perform at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, June 6.
