Despite the Rockingham Rams suffering a 105-point thumping to the Centrals at the weekend, coach Craig Otto is looking on the bright side.

With a shortage of senior players plaguing the Rams since the start of the season, Otto said he was pleased to watch many young colts players shine in the senior side, showing their ability to step up when it counted most.

He said the club was lucky to have 12 under-18s debut in the league team this year, setting a club record for debuts and paving the way for a bright future for the club.

Otto said the club may have lost 5.5 (35) to Centrals 21.14 (140) on Sunday but he was happy with the effort by the players on the ground.

"I was really wrapped with the way the guys went about it," he said.

"Their tackling, and the way they pressured the opposition was great, especially being up against the top of ladder team who have a lot of class in their side.

"I'm just really happy, they had a really good crack at it but we probably didn't have the forward line to finish it off."

On the opposite side of the scales the Rams colts are raring for the finals, sitting on top of the ladder with one round to go.

Next week, the Rams league side will take on Halls Head.

Otto gave the team the go ahead to "have some fun" in the last game of the Peel Football League season.

"We will just basically roll up and have a go and see if we can cause an upset and finish our season in the best possible way," he said.
