Rockingham Rams finished the season with a loss, going down by a whopping 93 points to Halls Head at the weekend.

The Rams were defeated at Anniversary Park with the game finishing 9.9 (63) to 24.12 (156) on Saturday.

Despite the Rams ending the season in seventh place on the Peel Football League ladder, coach Craig Otto said the players gave the season a good crack, given the lack of senior players.

He said the team put in a solid effort on Saturday, but could not hang on in the second half.

"We started off really well. I was really happy with the last 15 minutes of the second quarter," he said.

"Aaron Ophorst ran in for a goal but it hit the post, and if he would have got that, we would have been in front.

"Halls Head got the last five goals in the quarter and they were up at half-time … after that they were just a lot better than us."

Otto said Halls Head players' ball skills got the better of the Rams.

"They used the ball better than us and we got blown away a bit at the end, but we tried," he said.

Best Players on the day included Peter Mcgennisken, Aaron Ophorst, Morgan Hansen, Steven Kenny, Chris Reeves and Rocky Collins.

Looking to next season, Otto said he hoped to get some of the senior players, who had left the team, to return.

He said the club was now focused on the colts side, which was headed for the finals.

"We will support them for the next three to four weeks, and hopefully we might be able to at least win a flag in one of the lower levels," he said.

Otto said he believed players who had stepped up into the league side this year would be vital players in the finals.

"It will be a strong side," he said.
