Sabbath snap adorns cover

Waikiki photographer Jackie Jethon can add Black Sabbath to the growing list of celebrities she has snapped.

An image she took of guitarist Tony Iommi at the band’s May gig at Perth Arena will grace the cover of Black Sabbath’s upcoming DVD.

Jethon said she was overjoyed when her image of the British metal group was purchased for the release.

“I had a photo pass for the gig, I was there for an agency,” she said.

“I was down the front waiting to go into the photo pit when a guy came up to me and said, ‘I need you to get some good shots of Tony Iommi’.

“He gave me his business card which I stuck in my pocket and I emailed him to let him know I had sent all my photos to the agency, which he could look at.”

Jethon said it was a dream come true.

“I’ve done a lot of big bands before but this is the biggest thing that has developed from it,” she said.

Jethon made her passion for photography a reality about six years ago.

“I was selling merchandise at a gig once and someone asked me to take some photos,” she said.

“It went from there.”

After attaining her qualifications, Jethon set up her own business and has since snapped Olivia Newton-John, Kiss, Justin Bieber, Guns N’Roses, The Jacksons and Passenger.

Jethon photographs weddings and corporate event and said she would love to combine her passion for photography and live music full time.
