Sailing: Marks finds right rhythm

The Rockingham Cruising Yacht Club’s 29ers get under way in Saturday’s competition.

Rhythm and Booze skippered by Collin Marks proved too strong for Abracadabra in The Rockingham Cruising Yacht Club’s Div 1 race on Saturday.

Clear skies and sunshine promised the dedicated crews a heart-pounding day of racing, with the results of each division counting towards championship totals.

The wind dropped to a mediocre 6-7 knots, but sailors were far from disheartened, with six races taking place. Div 3 saw Lokman, skippered by Ally Mounsey, win line honours and first overall on handicap, with Parway placing second and Anelaua placing third.

In the jib and main, Ishkabible, skippered by Scott Radcliffe, placed first across the line and also won on handicap.

In 29ers, Impact, crewed by Shane and Luke, crossed the line first and also won on handicap.

The Flying Ants results are under protest with the final decision pending.
