Savvy investment guru and former Rockingham resident Lacey Filipich celebrated the launch of her new book with the help of some young entrepreneurs earlier this month.

Mrs Filipich is the founder of Money School, an online course that teaches adults and youngsters how to make their money work for them.

She decided to channel her passion for educating children about investing into a publication called Bunny Money and invited some up-and-coming “kidpreneurs” to help launch the book at East Fremantle Yacht Club.

“We had 12 kidpreneurs selling their wares on the day and their enthusiasm was contagious,” Mrs Filipich said.

“We invited children who have started up their own businesses by selling plants, making bracelets, dried fruit, lemonade or even selling eggs from pet hens.

“I thought we really need to give these kids some recognition to encourage them to keep going and to evolve and they’re fabulous role models.”

Mrs Filipich was taught to save and invest by her mother and went on to buy her first property at age 19.

She wrote and published Bunny Money in 2010, but kept the book quiet and gave it away to clients for their children.

Bunny Money is available online at oneyschool.org.au/shop/.
