The Rockingham Coastal Sharks senior reserves and under-18s battle it out this weekend for a place in the grand final against the Kalamunda Bulldogs at Charles Riley reserve, North Beach.

Over the weekend the league tag side lost a close game in blustery conditions to Joondalup, 6-0, and bowed out of the finals race, while the reserves lost a close game against Fremantle 28-24 after being down 24-6 at half-time.

They have another chance this weekend as the team were a major semifinalist, but will need to have more respect for possession than they had against Fremantle.

They turned over possession to Fremantle countless times in the first half, who went on to score at will.

In the second half, John Taituha directed the play better and with the side maintaining possession, they slowly pulled back from Fremantle, but time eventually ran out.

Tame Rereiti (three tries) and John Taituha were the best players.

The juniors have secured sides into this week’s grand finals with the under-16s, 14s and 13s to play at George Burnett Reserve this weekend.
