It was an Easter Sunday to remember for young Fremantle Dockers fan Kade Huck when he was plucked from a crowd of almost 34,000 at Domain Stadium by team captain Matthew Pavlich.

The nine-year-old said he was delighted to be picked from thousands of screaming fans after the Dockers' 75-68 win over Port Adelaide, to join players in the team song and enjoy a tour of the grounds.

He said he shook Pavlich's hand and visited the team changing rooms.

"I saw Pav coming into the crowd and raced down from my seat - I didn't think he was going to pick me but then he grabbed me by the shoulder," Kade said.

"I couldn't believe it - Pav is my favourite."

Mum Eleisha Huck said Kade and older sister Celeste, 12, attended the first round match with their grandparents Brian and Irene Ballantyne. She said the pair went along as an Easter treat after their maternal grandparents, club members Lyle and Patricia Maumill, could not make it.

"I think Kade was completely starstruck - I'm not sure if anything like that could happen twice," she said.

"Kade really did start his school holidays on a high."

Kade said he spent time with the players in the team changing rooms, sang along with the team song and chatted about the game. Celeste said she and her brother would alternate matches with their grandparents throughout the rest of the season.

A Fremantle Dockers spokesman said having Matthew Pavlich select a Fremantle fan out of the crowd was a new initiative, brought in for season 2015.

He said the club was always looking at ways to make the match day experience an unforgettable event.

"We are thrilled that Kade had such a great time," he said.
