Students test maths mettle

Port Kennedy students had numbers on the brain when Professor Maths made a visit to the school recently.

Professor Maths, a mathematics teaching company, brought a whole range of hands-on maths activities to the school last month to help students engage with the subject in a new way.

Teacher Julian Wald said inviting Professor Maths to the school was about showing students maths could be fun.

“It is about providing students with challenges and showing them how much fun maths can be,” he said.

Students across all age groups had a chance to sharpen their maths skills with up to 20 maths problems, games and puzzles.

Groups of students racked their brains over the activities set up around the room, working together to solve each of the problems.
