The Winners and Sinners hockey team is looking for new members to join in the fun and games and travel to Cape Town next year for the Golden Oldies Hockey Festival.

Designed for participants over the age of 35, the Golden Oldies festival is all about combining the love of sport with a passion for travel.

Winners and Sinners president Dave Mouna said the team first began participating in the festival in 1995 and had now travelled to several exciting destinations around the world.

“We have been to New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Fiji, Scotland, Hawaii and next year we are headed to South Africa,” he said.

“The festival is a fantastic way to meet people from all over the world and combine a social holiday with hockey.

“Players don’t require any previous experience and partners are welcome.

“We started with a ladies’ team and now play in the mixed division.”

The Golden Oldies Festival will be held from April 2-9, 2017.

All teams nominate their level of play and will be drawn against similar sides, ranging from competitive play to social.

Mr Mouna said there was no overall winner in the end — it was just a fun week full of planned activities and events.

“We always plan tours and explore the countries we visit each year,” he said.

“Our club originated in Rockingham and many of our members are based here and in Mandurah.

“We meet regularly throughout the year and the team has resulted in many lasting friendships between us.”
